Yes, you read that right. Not a wedding theme you see everyday but also, my most favorite wedding I’ve every shot. Adriene and I used to bartend together so I had an in to get to photograph this wedding and I can’t tell you how excited I was to do it. First of all, I love Adriene and Garrett. Just some of the chillest most genuine humans you will ever meet. They made me feel like a friend and a guest and made my time with them so incredible.
Adriene and Garrett live in Orange County but went to gorgeous the gorgeous Kern River for their wedding. My husband and I packed up the car, and took our first kid free weekend up there to photograph it. The whole area was gorgeous and they found an Airbnb with a huge backdoor space that was the perfect setting for their day. During portraits, we did some off-roading(thank you Subaru), took some portraits in some epic spots, and found a gorgeous secluded area for Adriene and Garrett to say their private vows to each other.
Let’s also take a moment for the dress. I probably would have paid Adriene just to photograph her in her La Perle wedding gown. When she first sent me photos of it, I about dropped my phone I was so excited. Then to see it on her the day of was just pure magic.
And we can’t forget the details. From the gorgeous florals with disco balls mixed in, to the spicy margaritas in personalized glasses, and the late night pizza delivery, it was the perfect day. All of their friends were there and you could tell everyone was just so happy to be a part of such a special moment. I don’t know what else to say other than this wedding is my benchmark for my ideal wedding.
